Sasaki, Maki
Sasaki Maki (b. 1946) is an cartoonist and illustrator who started making experimental manga in the mid-1960s, largely published in the pages of the avant-garde magazine Garo. Among his best-known works are the Musshu Munieru (Monsieur Meuniere) series and the Nemui nemui nezumi (Very Sleepy Mouse) series. He also illustrated the covers for Haruki Murakami's first seven novels. His latest work is the toddler-friendly Kodomo no Tomo 0.1.2. (Source: Fantagraphics)
