In the modern world all gods from all religion exist, birthed from the devotion they once received, and are now in atrapped in a separate plane with no access to earth. Bitter about how there human worhippers abandonned them, they now chose avatars to give them a bit of their power, and use them as chess pices to battle other gods on earth. Many avatars chose this path because of their lust for power, but some try everything to get out of this death battle.
